WHAT IS FROLF?

Frolf, or frog-golf, is the game played in Ribbit King. In frolf frogs are catapulted with hammers toward a goal called a "Frog-In." Each round consists of four holes. While fewer strokes help, the main objective is to outscore opponents by earning points through various means. Points are awarded for reaching the Frog-In by Turn 8, with the first player earning the most (1,500 points on Turn 1, 1,000 on Turns 2–8, decreasing by 100 each turn after the first Frog-In; no bonus if not completed by Turn 8). In Story Mode, players can switch frogs on the first turn of a match for strategic variety.

GIMMICKS

Additional points come from interacting with course elements such as but limited to:

Bubbkes

Can provide points, or multiply the amount of points gained from landing a frog on a target.

Flies

Frogs will always jump to eat a nearby fly, black flies and gold flies provide points while postion flies can harm your frog. Flies can be chained togeather but frogs can become dizzy and/or tired from jumping for too many flies in a row.

Targets

Landing on a target will reward a points bubble with a corresponding amount of points. This total can be multiplied by popping a multiplier bubble before landing on a target.

These are known as "gimmicks". Each planet and each frolf course have their own unique gimmicks. Interacting with these gimmicks can gain points, or they can loose points.

Some gimmicks can help a frog travel across the course more quickly, or it can simply throw them in a different directions.

POWER UPS

Players can equip their frogs with up to two special items per turn, such as “Frog-Fuel” for more energy or “Wings” for sharper curves. Items and frog choices are set before the round but can be customized between rounds. Some frogs have unique abilities similar to item effects.

In story mode items can be purchased in between rounds of frolf at the vending machine, or from Gumbah-Goo in the FUV. Some characters may offer to sell power-ups, and frog eggs, to Scooter after a frolf match.

Items can also be obtained by landing on a "mystery spot" during a game of frolf.
