Falling a few
credits short of finishing my film studies minor doesn't diminish my
enthusiasm for the medium! My partner and I have a collection of over
4,000 b-movies and exploitation films. I also did my senior independent
study on the representation of woman in exploitation cinema. I guess you
could say I'm a certified grindhouse fanatic.

Outside
of b-movie fare I adore the AMERICAN NEW WAVE films
of the late 60s and 70s. I'm also a rabid fan of HORROR films,
particularly the SLASHER genre- though that's just
more b-movie fare, isn't it?
My
favorite film of all time is Jaws (1975). I first saw it when
I was nine years old and it hasn't left me since. I've seen it countless
times and I'll never get tired of it.

ROGER
CORMAN (of course)
No one
person could come close to matching Corman's mark on American cinema.
Literally every hit film of the last 60 years can be traced back to him
in some way.
Doris
Wishman
As a
sexploitation director Doris isn't always competent but she's always
looking for a gimmick! She was is in it for the love filmmaking even if
that film is a nudist picture or (in the case of her later work) down
right grotesque.
Lucio
Fulci
Giallos,
my beloved where would I be without you? No matter where, no matter
when, Fulci is setting out of this world gore and violence to a synth
soundtrack and it hits every single time.
My favorite film: The New York Ripper (1982)
Hershcell
Gorden Lewis
This
mad lad- just as much as a buisness man as Corman but a worse filmmaker.
Lewis shares the "Godfather of Gore" title with Fulci. This is the only
guy willing to throw around buckets of red paint and cuts of meat to
simulate gore in the 1960s. And for that I'm grateful.
My favorite film: Blood Feast (1963) -
why complicate things?
do
not mention him to me !!
